 Hailing from the resilient roots of Laos, DJ Kal's journey through music is as captivating as the beats he spins. Born to a family forced to flee their homeland during the tumultuous late 1970s due to the Secret War and the rise of communism, Kal's early life was marked by adversity and the pursuit of a better life. Landing on the shores of Seattle, Washington as refugees, his family's experiences painted the backdrop for his future in music.  

Seattle's vibrant culture and diverse music scene quickly enveloped Kal, providing him with a gateway to escape and self-expression. It was the soulful rhythms of the 70s and the electronic pulse of the 80s that resonated deeply within him, setting the stage for his eventual transformation into a musical maestro. Immersed in the nostalgic melodies of the past, DJ Kal found his calling – a blend of disco, house, and techno, infused with synth-heavy tracks, punchy kicks, and crisp hi-hats that would come to define his signature style.
